In March 2025, members of the Toukley Lions Club and the Toukley Lions Ladies Auxiliary attended a special morning tea at the Lake Haven Lions Renal Unit to celebrate the donation of 11 new televisions for patients receiving treatment.
The new TVs were purchased and donated by the Toukley Lions to help improve the comfort and wellbeing of patients undergoing dialysis at the renal unit. Dialysis treatment sessions can often last several hours, and the addition of personal televisions provides patients with greater comfort, entertainment, and distraction during their time at the clinic.
During the visit, Lions members had the opportunity to meet with staff and patients at the unit and see firsthand how the new televisions will benefit those receiving regular treatment. The morning tea provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise the importance of community support for local health services.
The Lions Club of Toukley has a long tradition of supporting health-related initiatives and community projects across the region. Donations such as these reflect the club’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for people in the local community.
Toukley Lions are proud to support the Lake Haven Lions Renal Unit and hope the new televisions will make treatment sessions more comfortable for patients for many years to come.
